Individual therapy for adults
When you've spent so long holding everything together, it can be hard to know what you need. Therapy can be a place to slow down, feel heard, and find your own way forward.

Maybe you're carrying anxiety, questioning beliefs you once built your life around, or noticing familiar patterns in your relationships. Maybe you're in a season of change and aren't sure who you're becoming.
You don't need a polished explanation to begin. We can make room for the uncertainty and work together toward changes that feel meaningful to you.
Areas we can explore
Explore overwhelm, self-doubt, and the pressure to keep going. Build practical ways to respond to stress and navigate change.
Make sense of people-pleasing, boundaries, and recurring relationship patterns while getting clearer about your needs.
Work through fear, shame, or pressure from rigid religious environments. Explore your beliefs and decide what feels right for you.
My therapeutic approach
You may need support through a difficult week, or you may feel stuck in patterns you want to change. We can work on what’s happening now while making sense of what keeps bringing you back to the same place.
My approach combines practical tools with deeper exploration of your thoughts, emotions, relationships, and sense of self. I draw from cognitive behavioral approaches, attachment theory, motivational interviewing, Internal Family Systems, Jungian theory, and existential logotherapy, guided by your needs.
When helpful, we can include grounding, mindfulness, or gentle movement to explore how stress shows up in your body and practice feeling more settled. These practices are always optional. Questions about identity, beliefs, and meaning are welcome, too.
We’ll work at a pace we agree on, with room to reflect, try something different, and find what works for you.
Crystal Janes, LMSW
Therapist · Yoga & Meditation Teacher · VeteranMeet Crystal
I bring warmth, curiosity, and compassion to our conversations. You can be honest about what feels messy or hard to explain. My role is to listen, ask thoughtful questions, and help you make sense of your experiences.
I work with adults navigating anxiety, depression, loneliness, relationship patterns, and seasons of change. I’m especially interested in helping people understand themselves and find a stronger sense of connection and belonging.
I’m a Licensed Master Social Worker, U.S. Navy veteran, trauma-informed yoga teacher, and certified meditation teacher. My additional training includes spiritual psychology coaching and life coach training with the International Coaching Federation.
These experiences shape my attention to both thoughts and emotions and the ways stress shows up in the body.
My social work experience includes individual therapy, crisis stabilization, and residential substance use treatment. In these settings, I’ve supported adults navigating emotional distress, recovery, and significant life changes through individual sessions, groups, and mindfulness practices.
You are the expert on your own life. I bring another perspective, and we work together to find a way forward that feels like yours.
I provide psychotherapy at Cornerstone Counseling Center under the clinical supervision of Lindsay M. Malhotra, LCSW-S.
A little more about me
At home, I enjoy caring for my plants, spending time with my cat, and watching a good comedy. I’m also the person who gets excited about a book or a conversation that opens up a new way of seeing things. Psychology, philosophy, spirituality, and neuroscience are subjects I return to often.
That curiosity is part of what I bring to therapy: an interest in understanding, a willingness to sit with unanswered questions, and an appreciation for the ordinary moments that make life feel meaningful.
A few things to know
I work with adults seeking individual therapy. We can discuss your concerns and whether my approach and services fit your needs.
No. These are optional tools, and you decide whether they feel useful. Our work can focus on conversation and practical skills.
Yes. You can explore faith, spiritual questions, or deconstruction without pressure toward a particular outcome. We can address the impact of fear, shame, or controlling expectations while respecting the beliefs and connections that are meaningful to you. You decide whether these topics are part of our work.
Yes. I offer a free 15-minute consultation call to discuss what you're looking for, answer questions about my services, and explore whether working together feels like a good fit. This is an introductory conversation, not a therapy session.
Texting is the preferred way to request a consultation. Text 940-277-8044 with your first name, a request for a consultation, and a few days or times that work for a call. Please let me know whether it is safe to call, text, or leave a voicemail. You do not need to describe your concerns in the message.
We can discuss session options, fees, insurance arrangements, and openings during your consultation. You can also use Cornerstone Counseling Center’s consultation page and request Crystal Janes by name.
Fees & payment
I know that life is expensive right now, and finding room in your budget for therapy isn’t always easy. If you’d like to work together and cost is a concern, please reach out. We can talk about the options available to you.
$90 per session
This is my standard self-pay rate for individual therapy.
I offer a sliding scale because I want to make therapy more accessible. If my standard fee feels out of reach, please feel comfortable asking about a reduced rate. We can talk about what feels manageable for you.
I also offer reduced-rate sessions through Open Path for eligible members, with fees ranging from $40–$70 per session.
If you have questions about fees, insurance, or payment options, please don’t hesitate to ask. We can talk through them during a free 15-minute consultation.
